From the Freedom Center to the Neon Signs

The National Underground Railroad Freedom Center faces the Ohio River and connects the history of enslavement, resistance, abolition, and escape with present-day struggles for freedom. Harriet Beecher Stowe House interprets both the author's formative Cincinnati years and the building's later use as the Green Book-listed Edgemont Inn.Cincinnati Museum Center occupies Union Terminal, a huge 1933 Art Deco station with a half-dome rotunda, mosaics, museums, an OMNIMAX theater, and active Amtrak service. Cincinnati Fire Museum covers the practical steam fire engine and the creation of the country's first full-time paid professional fire department. American Sign Museum fills an indoor streetscape with painted signs, bulbs, neon, plastics, storefronts, and a working neon shop.Cincinnati Art Museum offers free general admission to a collection of more than 73,000 works. Contemporary Arts Center has no permanent collection and occupies Zaha Hadid's first American building. Admission, tours, special exhibitions, parking, and programs are separate from the PopHops Pass.
