National Underground Railroad Freedom Center
The National Underground Railroad Freedom Center faces the Ohio River, which marked a dangerous legal boundary between slavery and freedom in the 19th century. Permanent and changing exhibitions cover enslavement, resistance, abolition, escape networks, and present-day struggles for freedom. The museum charges admission except on designated free community days and uses cashless ticket sales. It closes Monday and Tuesday, with last entry 30 minutes before closing. Construction connected to the Brent Spence Bridge Corridor can affect downtown approaches.
