Harriet Beecher Stowe House

Harriet Beecher Stowe lived in Cincinnati during years that shaped her antislavery writing. A century later, the same house operated as the Edgemont Inn and appeared in the Green Book, which helped Black travelers find safer lodging and services during segregation.A restoration completed in 2024 interprets the house in both the 1840s and the 1940s. Hour-long tours begin on the hour Thursday through Saturday, with the final tour at 3 p.m. The first floor has limited ramp access, while the second floor is reached only by stairs.
