Washington Park Arboretum

Washington Park Arboretum holds a world-class collection of woody plants across 230 acres of gardens, natural areas, and wetlands. Trails move through collections organized by region, plant family, and habitat, with bark, leaves, flowers, and seasonal color changing throughout the year. The University of Washington Botanic Gardens and City of Seattle jointly manage the Arboretum. Entry is free from dawn to 8 p.m.; the separate Seattle Japanese Garden charges admission. The visitor center keeps shorter hours, parking is limited, and trails can be wet during long stretches of rain.
