Hoyt Arboretum

Hoyt Arboretum was founded in 1928 to conserve and teach through living trees. Roughly 6,000 trees and shrubs representing about 2,000 species grow across the Washington Park ridge. Labels turn the grounds into an open-air collection of conifers, magnolias, maples, redwoods, and other plant families from around the world.About 12 miles of trails range from short paved routes to steep forest paths. The grounds are free and open daily, while the visitor center keeps shorter hours. Parking is limited and paid, and trail conditions can change after storms or construction.
