Flandrau Science Center & Planetarium
Turn Tucson's sky into a classroom.Flandrau opened in 1975 after Grace H. Flandrau's estate funded a public planetarium at the University of Arizona. Over five decades it expanded into a science center where hands-on exhibits connect visitors with university work in astronomy, planetary science, biology, optics, and monsoon research. The dome makes distant systems visible, while the exhibit floor returns them to instruments, models, and questions people can test.Choose a current show before arrival if the planetarium is the priority; popular programs can sell out, start promptly, and may deny late entry. Show tickets and exhibit-only admission are sold by Flandrau, not included with this Pass, and transactions are cashless. Children under 16 must be accompanied by someone 16 or older. Ramped entry, wide level routes, elevator service, accessible restrooms, dedicated wheelchair and companion seating, closed captions for supported prerecorded shows, and audio aids are documented. Parking is limited and partly paid; streetcar and bus stops are nearby. Closed Thanksgiving and Christmas as well as Mondays.
