Roger Williams Park Botanical Center
Roger Williams Park began in 1871 when Betsey Williams left 102 acres for public use. The current Botanical Center opened in 2007, decades after earlier city greenhouses on Park Avenue were demolished for Route 10.A 40-foot-high conservatory covers roughly 12,000 square feet within a 23,000-square-foot public display complex of tropical plants, paths, water, and glass. Admission is paid and timed preregistration is currently required. The center closes Monday, while events and park conditions can change regular access.
