RISD Museum

Rhode Island School of Design established its museum in 1877 alongside the school. The teaching collection now holds more than 100,000 works across cultures and periods, with galleries that emphasize materials, process, provenance, interpretation, and design as well as finished objects.Adult admission is paid, while visitors 18 and younger enter free. Admission is free for everyone on Sunday and during selected Thursday evening hours. The museum closes Monday, and changing exhibitions, holiday closures, gallery rules, and bag limits affect access.
