Orange County Regional History Center

Walk into a courthouse built to hold public memory. The neoclassical building opened as Orange County's main courthouse in 1927. When a new courthouse opened in 1995, community leaders recommended turning this one into a regional museum; the History Center followed in 2000. Its four floors now bring collections, permanent galleries, limited-run exhibitions, and the original courtroom into a continuing argument about how Central Florida remembers itself.Access and volatility truth: Hours are Monday–Saturday 10:00–17:00 and Sunday noon–17:00, with published 2026 holiday closures and an early 14:00 close on December 31. The facility is cashless, charges admission, and is accessible with elevators on every floor and two accessible spaces on East Washington Street. Renovations and exhibition updates are active; call 407-836-8500 before traveling for one specific gallery. Special events can require separate tickets.
