Behind the carved wood, stained glass, ironwork, and silk were multiple thermostats, refrigeration, an elevator, a burglar alarm, and an electric servants' call system.Most visits follow a guided tour that leaves on the hour. The self-guided window is limited to noon through 1 p.m., and admission is paid. Reservations are recommended, with check-in at the Visitor Center in The Marq immediately west of the mansion. More
