They lifted the three-story museum onto a platform and extended a deep canopy far beyond the walls, creating shaded verandas and plazas that pull the park into the building.Look up: Patrick Blanc developed the hanging vegetation with the architects—67 gardens containing tens of thousands of plants, irrigated in part by captured rainwater and designed for hurricane-force winds. Inside, the collection and exhibitions reflect Miami’s position at the crossroads of the Americas; before the art begins, the architecture is already working. The museum is currently open Monday 11am–6pm, Thursday 11am–9pm, and Friday–Sunday 11am–6pm; Tuesday–Wednesday are closed.
