Wisconsin State Capitol
The current Wisconsin State Capitol rose after a 1904 fire, built one wing at a time from 1906 to 1917 so government could continue operating. Its four wings hold the Assembly, Senate, Supreme Court, governor's rooms, and public hearing spaces beneath the country's only granite dome.Free tours last about 45 to 50 minutes, and public areas can also be explored independently. The outdoor observation deck usually opens from mid-April through December but can close for weather or construction. Legislative sessions can make individual rooms unavailable.
