Big Four Bridge

Big Four Bridge opened as a railroad crossing in 1895, was decommissioned in the 1960s, and stood without approach ramps for decades. It reopened to pedestrians and cyclists in 2013, linking Louisville and Jeffersonville across the Ohio River. The crossing is free and outdoors, with long ramps on both sides and views of downtown, the river, parks, bridges, and industry. Pets are not permitted on the bridge. Weather, events, maintenance, and riverfront work can change access.
