Wetlands Park Nature Center

The Las Vegas Wash is the valley’s working river. At Wetlands Park, water moving east toward Lake Mead supports cottonwoods, reeds, wildlife, and a public landscape that makes the region’s watershed visible. The 2,900-acre park includes a 210-acre Nature Preserve and a Nature Center built as an outdoor classroom. Start with the exhibits, then walk out to hear water, birds, and wind together—a striking counterpoint to the city’s engineered surfaces.Wetlands Park is free. Trails and trailheads are open daily from dawn to dusk; the Nature Center is currently open Tuesday through Sunday, 9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. Bring water, sun protection, and sturdy shoes, and check for extreme heat or flash-flood warnings before entering. Do not treat wash channels as safe during storms.
