Corn Creek Visitor Center and Trails
Corn Creek is where the desert gathers itself around water. At the southern threshold of the largest national wildlife refuge in the lower 48 states, springs support shade, dense vegetation, and one of Southern Nevada’s most important stops for migratory birds.Begin at the visitor center, then use the 1.5-mile trail network to move between habitats and human traces. A refugium protects endangered Pahrump poolfish, while a 1920s cabin built from abandoned railroad ties preserves another layer of the oasis story.Refuge entry is generally available from about 4:00 a.m. to sunset; Corn Creek trails and restrooms are open sunrise to sunset. Visitor-center hours change seasonally—summer 2026 is Friday through Monday, 8:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. Check fire restrictions and road conditions. Beyond Corn Creek, high clearance is required and four-wheel drive is recommended; cell service is limited.
