San Antonio Botanical Garden
The San Antonio Botanical Garden covers about 39 acres, with a glass conservatory, the Texas Native Trail, WaterSaver landscapes, a culinary garden, formal display beds, and family nature play. The Lucile Halsell Conservatory divides tropical, desert, and other plant environments into separate glass structures that rise above the grounds. The Texas Native Trail compares plants from different regions of the state, so South Texas brush, Hill Country species, and other communities aren't collapsed into one generic Texas landscape. Seasonal blooms, propagation work, water use, and conservation programs change what is visible throughout the year.Admission is paid. Hours change seasonally; the current March-November schedule closes later on weekends. Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day are closed. Much of the garden is outdoors, and some routes include unpaved surfaces or temporary closures.
