Fish Ladder Park
Joseph Kinnebrew installed this concrete fish ladder in 1975 to help migrating fish bypass the strong flow at the man-made Sixth Street rapids. The structure is both public sculpture and working river infrastructure, though city research says passage remains only partly effective for several species. The park is free and best used in daylight from the paved overlooks. Fish are seasonal and never guaranteed. High water, ice, construction, and future river-restoration work can change access, and the river remains unsafe beyond the railings.
