Motown Museum

Berry Gordy bought the house now known as Hitsville U.S.A. in 1959, and Motown recorded there until 1972. Studio A, the control room, offices, artifacts, and Gordy's former upstairs apartment put the Motown Sound back inside the modest building where much of it was made.Entry is by a guided tour lasting about an hour, and every ticket is tied to a specific nonrefundable time. Tours often sell out, and late entry is not guaranteed. The museum closes Monday and Tuesday and stays open later Saturday.
