Denver Union Station opened in 1881 and was rebuilt in 1914. Its latest major renovation reopened in 2014, combining intercity rail, commuter trains, light rail, buses, hotel rooms, restaurants, shops, and public seating around the restored Great Hall.The station still functions as transportation infrastructure, not just a preserved building. Trains and buses run while travelers, diners, hotel guests, and downtown visitors share the hall.
