A Lantern, Bates Hall, Old Ironsides, and JFK

Old North Church is Boston's oldest standing church building. Its steeple carried the two-lantern signal on April 18, 1775, and its paid visit includes the sanctuary, box pews, crypt, and history exhibits. The Boston Public Library's McKim Building adds Bates Hall's 50-foot barrel vault, a Roman-style courtyard, and major mural cycles. The Gardner Museum looks much as Isabella Stewart Gardner arranged it when Fenway Court opened in 1903. Its galleries include the empty frames left after thieves stole thirteen works in 1990. In Charlestown, the USS Constitution Museum explains how the 1797 warship earned the name Old Ironsides. The JFK Library closes the set with a recreated 1960 campaign office, original broadcast equipment, presidential records, and I.M. Pei's harbor-facing building. The five stops sit in different parts of Boston and make a practical multi-day pass. The public library is free. Old North and the two museums charge admission, while the Navy operates USS Constitution separately from its museum and requires physical photo ID for adult boarding. The PopHops Pass does not include admission, reservations, transportation, food, discounts, or partner benefits.
