Old Penitentiary/Table Rock Trailhead

Table Rock Trail 15 follows an old road for roughly 1.6 miles and gains about 800 feet. The climb leaves the green river corridor for open high-desert ground and ends with broad views of Boise's river, neighborhoods, and surrounding ridges.The route is steep and exposed rather than a casual roadside viewpoint. The mesa closes at sunset, and vehicles are not allowed at the top.
