The River, the Garden, and Table Rock

Boise River Greenbelt follows 25 miles of river and links more than a dozen parks. Barber Park adds cottonwoods, wildlife habitat, and the traditional launch for a conditional six-mile float with three Class II rapids. Kathryn Albertson Park replaces speed with paved loops, ponds, gazebos, and 41 acres managed for wildlife and quiet use.Idaho Botanical Garden grew from the nursery and farm of the Old Idaho Penitentiary into roughly 15 acres of native plants, cultivated rooms, and seasonal displays. Camel's Back Park puts neighborhood recreation directly under the first foothill ridge.Old Penitentiary/Table Rock Trailhead starts a steep, exposed route that gains about 800 feet in 1.6 miles and overlooks the river, neighborhoods, and surrounding ridges. Botanical Garden admission, parking, float equipment, and services are separate from the PopHops Pass. Daylight, river flow, heat, smoke, mud, and trail conditions can change the rest.
