The Baltimore & Ohio Railroad was chartered in 1827, and its Mount Clare site became Mile One of American commercial rail. The museum complex includes an 1851 station, the 1884 Roundhouse, an original 60-foot turntable, and a major collection of early locomotives and rolling stock.Admission is paid, with free secure parking on site. The Mile One Express train has its own schedule and seating rules and does not run with every visit. Parts of the collection are outside, so weather affects the experience even when the main museum is open. More
