Coleman Theater
Arrive beneath a Spanish Colonial Revival skyline of curving parapets and bell towers, then cross into a Louis XV-inspired auditorium built to make a mining town feel connected to the widest world of entertainment. Lead-and-zinc magnate George L. Coleman commissioned the 1,600-seat palace, which opened to a full house on April 18, 1929. Vaudeville, talking pictures, a resident orchestra, and the original Mighty Wurlitzer all shared the program as one entertainment era turned into another. The Coleman never became a frozen movie set. It remains a working theatre for tours, films, concerts, and community productions, so a rehearsal or event can change what is accessible. Current official tour guidance lists Tuesday–Friday arrival through 3:30 p.m. and Saturday through 1:30 p.m.; call ahead, especially if the Wurlitzer or a full interior tour matters to you.Look closely at the transition from ornate lobby to auditorium, follow staff photography rules, silence devices, and keep performance areas clear. A Pass check-in does not include admission, a ticket, reserved seating, an organ demonstration, or backstage access.
