New Mexico Museum of Natural History & Science
Step backward until the city becomes deep time.Founded in 1986, the New Mexico Museum of Natural History & Science follows a journey from the universe’s origins toward the present. Fossils, Triassic landscapes, dinosaurs, volcanoes, and space science turn New Mexico into evidence of continuous planetary and biological change. The building also connects public galleries with research rather than presenting science as a completed set of answers.Allow about two hours if adding a planetarium or DynaTheater show; each show is roughly 45 minutes, tickets stop selling shortly before start time, and theater admission is separate from the museum. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult 18 or older. Temporary exhibits and show schedules change, so this Hop promises only the durable institution and permanent scientific scope. Pets are not allowed, and the Museum and nearby Albuquerque Museum remain separate canonical places and check-ins.
