National Hispanic Cultural Center
Follow culture as something practiced in public. The National Hispanic Cultural Center opened to the public in October 2000 on more than 20 acres in Barelas. Its art museum, theaters, library and genealogy center, education programs, and Torreón preserve, promote, and advance Hispanic culture, arts, and humanities while giving current Hispanic, Chicano, and Latinx artists room to challenge any fixed definition of those words.Use the Art Museum and campus as the reliable core, then add a performance, reading, workshop, or Torreón tour only from the current calendar. The Welcome Center and Art Museum follow these weekly hours; the Research Library, theaters, box office, restaurant, tours, and events maintain separate schedules and tickets. The documented accessible approach enters from 8th Street and Avenida Dolores Huerta, with designated parking on the west side. Allow transfer time across the multi-building campus.
